Commission discusses unmet transit needs in county
Tuesday, May 19, 2015 — Lassen County Transportation staff presented the Lassen County Transportation Commission the results from the unmet transit needs as unreasonable to meet, at the Monday, May 12 meeting.
In February and March, public hearings were held to discuss any potential unmet needs in local transit.
Melody Brawley, Health and Social Services director, noted how it was hard for buses to make it up to the behavioral health clinic on Hospital Lane since the old buses had difficulty turning around and going up the hill when it’s icy.
According to Kelly Mumper, transportation planner, the public hearing was required under the Transportation Development Act, which provides funding for county streets and roads in counties with fewer than 500,000 people.
