Let's spend our money in Lassen County

Sept. 27, 2011 — Times are tough, and everyone from local residents and businesses to city and county governments are having to tighten their belts to make ends meet during these rocky economic times.

The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce’s Think Local First program provides many reasons for keeping our local dollars in play right here in our hometown — we save money while investing in our community, we support businesses that support our community, we maintain and create jobs, we keep the money we spend right here at home and we encourage business and attract businesses to Lassen County.

According to a theory on behavioral change you are in the contemplation stage.

What astonished me about this stage is that it can last a couple of weeks or as long as a lifetime. Basically some of those things we contemplate never happen.

Sept. 20, 2011 — Two categories of incidents have been occurring in Lassen County this last month that put a huge spike in statistical data and should be a cause for concern for anyone who lives in the area.

First issue of concern is the number of fatalities on our state roads.
