NOW OFFERING THE FORD SERVICE CREDIT CARD
Rand Shepard, parts and service director at Susanville Ford, tell us they now offer the Ford service credit card for your entire automotive repair needs. If you are interested in applying for the card, pick up an application in their newly expanded parts and service department.
The Lassen Humane Society needs your donations for their eighth annual yard sale to take place May 31 and June 1. If you have been thinking of doing some spring cleaning, then load up the car with your new or gently used items. You can drive in and drop off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays or Thursdays under the grandstands at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. For more information, call 257-4555.

CHESTER STORE OPENS MAY 11
Melissa McCoy, owner of Every Bloomin' Thing, is opening her Chester location this Saturday. It's located on Main Street next to the Bidwell House. Both her Chester and Susanville stores are open seven days a week. If you have any gardening questions, stop in to either of her locations and let the garden experts help you.
Johnstonville Elementary School is hosting its annual Kindergarten Round-Up. It is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 8 in the kindergarten room. Bring your student(s), copy of his/her birth certificate and his/her immunization record. Everyone interested in attending Johnstonville Elementary is welcome to attend. Those students living outside the district will be given information regarding the inter-district transfer policy.

MARVELOUS MEALS FOR MOTHER’S DAY
Get mom out of the kitchen and into one of the many local restaurants that have put together several delicious options for Mother’s Day. Margaret Wang, at Happy Garden Chinese Restaurant, will be featuring some special authentic dishes for the day, in addition to their traditional menu. Every mom who comes in May 19 will receive a single red rose. If you have a large group that’s no problem, they can accommodate large and small lunch and dinner parties.
Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel will be baking up a tasty breakfast quiche served with a delectable lemon dessert, while supplies last. Plus, Mom can try her luck on the many fun slots and see if she is a lucky winner for the day.
Just south of Susanville, The White House Restaurant will be making a traditional prime rib or seafood pasta dinner for the day, in addition to offering their Thai and American dinner menu.

Milwood Lakeside Nursery, at Lake Almanor, is now open and stocked up with lots of rosebushes and blooming plants. Both locations are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mother’s Day.
