Ora Eva Auble
Ora passed away March 1, 2013 at Country Villa Riverview. She was born Aug. 25, 1923 in Adin, Calif. She was the third child of Charles and Mildred Bennett.
Ora married Kenneth R. Auble and they worked the family ranch on Butte Creek. Three children were born of this union, LeRoy, Arnold and Mildred. The family moved to town in 1958 and Ora worked at the Duck Inn Restaurant, Adin Supply and Chace’s Store.
Her husband, Kenneth; two brothers, Ivan and Herman Bennett; and two sisters, Iva Slater Calvert and Esther Ellis, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, LeRoy (Charlotte) Auble, of Anderson, Calif., and Arnold Auble, of Las Vegas, Nev.; her daughter, Mildred (Gayle) Heard, of Susanville; five granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; eight step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Adin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation to your favorite charity.
Blyth Janine Bentley
Blyth Janine Bentley passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 after a five-year fight against cancer.
Blyth was born to Fred and Carole Redman on August 11, 1957 in Downey, Calif. She moved to Lake Almanor in 1967 and attended Chester Elementary and high school, graduating in 1975. She met the love of her life, John Bentley, in 1985 and they were married Aug. 9, 1986. Blyth and John were a perfect match in all of their endeavors — from working hard to having fun. Blyth and John lived in Chester until moving to their Janesville ranch in 2001.
Her strength and unyielding spirit was apparent in all she did. Blyth loved to ski. Following her first radiation treatment she set off for Mt. Rose to spend the afternoon skiing with her sister. She was dedication to her friends, family and community. Blyth was an amazing cook. She worked in various restaurants and in the family business. Her favorite pastime was riding her horses around Lassen and Plumas counties with her husband and friends. Her dogs were always by her side.
She is survived by her husband, John Bentley; her mother, Carole Johnson; her three sisters, Paige Broglio, Yvonne Kendziora and Tina Danelia; her two daughters, Jeanene Taylor and Jessica Anderson; and her two grandchildren, Haaken and Per Anderson.
Blyth will be remembered for her unwavering strength, positive attitude and beautiful smile. We love you Blyth.

Terry Lee Kellum
Terry Lee Kellum, of Westwood, died Friday, March 1, 2013 at Seneca District Hospital in Chester, Calif. He was born in Santa Barbara, Calif. on March 21, 1952.
Terry is survived by his son, Patrick Kellum, of Yuba City, Calif.; Gina Holterman, of Elk Grove, Calif.; Angela Kellum-Duncan, of Minneapolis, Minn.; Danielle Kellum; along with eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ricky Hannaway.

Gregory Thompson
Gregory “Greg” Thompson passed away in Janesville on Friday, March 1, 2013, at age 53.
Born in Elyria, Ohio on Jan. 13, 1960, Greg was raised in many communities around the country, eventually moving to California where he spent the remaining 40 years of his life.
Greg worked in the information technology industry for many years until 2007 when he made a career change and became a correctional officer for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. After a brief assignment at Chuckawalla State Prison in Blythe, he transferred to High Desert State Prison in Susanville, and settled down in the town of Janesville.
Although he had many interests, Greg found great pleasure in woodworking and developing alternative energy sources.
Greg is survived by his wife, Svetlana; son, Kevin; daughter, Loren; step-son, Alexander; step-daughter, Irina; his mother, Patricia Larkin; and his father, Richard Thompson. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and many co-workers.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. March 18, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Susanville, with a hospitality luncheon immediately following at Monsignor Moran Hall.
