Supervisor Moty endorses Brian Dahle, scolds Bosetti camp
Nov. 2, 2012 — Longtime Redding police chief and Shasta County supervisor Leonard Moty announced his support for Brian Dahle in the 1st assembly district. In a strong statement, Moty also spoke out about the lies spread by Rick Bosetti and his campaign supporters.
"I believe Brian Dahle has the experience, knowledge and vision to lead us in Sacramento," said Moty. "Brian is a person of integrity, and I could no longer stand on the sidelines while his opponent's supporters, using misleading accusations, assaulted his character."
Moty served as chief of police of the Redding Police Department, where he worked from the beginning of his career in 1977 as a police officer until his retirement as chief in 2008. His primary focus was to maintain quality of life by providing a safe community for families.
Moty was recently reelected to a second term as the Shasta County Supervisor from District 2 and joins supervisors Linda Hartman, Glenn Hawes and Les Baugh and 30 other county supervisors in their endorsement of Dahle. Dahle has also been endorsed by former Shasta County Sheriff Jim Pope and undersheriff Larry Schaller.
