Real estate broker Mel Benny has opened her own office in Westwood next door to the Walker Mansion Inn on Third Street. As a real estate consultant, offering professional assistance in buying or selling, Mel has been in the business since the early 1990s. She previously managed the Century 21 Cottage Realty office in Susanville. She is a member of both Lassen and Plumas Association of Realtors.

Monte also reminds us they are still taking donations for a K-9 officer. Donations may be dropped off at Treats, or at the Lassen County Sheriff's Office.
TOYS FOR TOTS KIDS SHOOT
Mark your calendars for Saturday, Oct. 6 for the Lassen Regulators’ annual Toys for Tots Kids Shoot. The event will be held at their Rice Canyon Range, sign-ups start at 8 a.m., shooting matches start at 9 a.m. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to participate in the event. MUSIC IN THE SCHOOL
Janesville School is hosting a “Save the Music” program event from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 8. Sonia Rao, of “The Voice,” and Nashville singer/songwriter Hope Nix will be entertaining the audience along with fiddle fancier Tallon Sandoval, of Janesville. FARMERS IS MOVING
Michelle Hunter, of Farmers Insurance, is moving her office. You won’t have to go far, though. As of Oct. 1 you will be able to find your friendly Farmers agents just across Main Street in the old Century 21/Cottage Realty building.
