Police confirm Walmart peeping Tom
Sept. 19, 2012 — On Sept. 18 at approximately 8 p.m. officers from the Susanville Police Department (SPD) were dispatched to Walmart on a report of a male subject who entered the women’s restroom and looked under the privacy partition of an occupied toilet stall.
Police officers talked to a female victim who confirms this occurred. Video surveillance footage from Walmart has been obtained and is being reviewed for evidence.
As a result of this incident, an email has been circulating around stating the male subject was a migrant farm worker. The nationality of the suspect has not been determined at this time.
The SPD is working closely with the management of the Susanville Walmart store to ensure public safety while shopping in the establishment. According to SPD, releasing further details at this time could jeopardize the investigation.
If you have any information regarding this incident, call the Susanville Police Department at 257-5603. Callers may remain anonymous.
