Alan “Spud” Monti Hargrove
Alan “Spud” Monti Hargrove was unexpectedly taken during his sleep due to an asthma attack Friday, July 20, 2012 in Susanville, Calif. He was born June 5, 1982 at March Air Force Base, Calif. He has been a resident of Susanville for the past several years.
He had just returned back home in Susanville from out of state. Prior, he had worked for a few years for Walmart. He was an accomplished drummer and loved the band he was once a part of. He had a beautiful singing voice but when he danced, was when he shined.
Spud was loved by many and always took the time to help anyone in need. He had so many good friends that there are too many to give a number. Besides his parents, Alan loved and protected beyond words his only younger sister. She was one of many who sparked his heart.
He is survived by mother, Yolanda Smith and step-father, Tony Smith; father, Scott Hargrove; sister, Alexandra Hargrove; grandparents, Nathaniel and Martha Sotto; as well as several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Walton’s Colonial Chapel. Cards and flowers in Alan’s name can be sent to Yolanda and Tony Smith C/O Walton’s Colonial Chapel, 115 South Lassen St., Susanville, CA 96130 or directly to Yolanda and Tony Smith’s residence.
Alan was laid to rest, until we see him again, at Diamond Crest Cemetery, Susanville.
