BACON CHEESEBURGER … PIZZA

Yes you read that right. According to Judy and Lorin Galassi, owners of Papa Murphy’s in Susanville, they are now making a Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza. Lorin says it's the best he's tasted. They take a freshly made pizza crust, top it with a burger sauce, pile on mozzarella cheese, ground beef, crispy bacon, fresh onions and roma tomatoes, and it wouldn't be a cheeseburger without a layer of dill pickle chips. The finishing touch is a sprinkle of chedder cheese.

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

The Diamond Mountain Casino is celebrating their 16th anniversary on Saturday, March 17th. In honor of the event they will be doubling the prize money on their Ruby 7 Emerald Winners Wheel. Plus, they’ll be giving away T-shirts to jackpot winners and handing out complimentary appetizers from 2 to 5 p.m. Since the event also falls on Saint Patrick’s Day, you can enjoy food and drink specials, and the traditional corned beef and cabbage while supplies last.

CELEBRATE ST. PATTY’S DAY

The Lassen Humane Society is holding their annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner with all the fixings on Thursday, March 15. The dinner will be held at Jensen Hall on the Lassen County Fairgrounds starting at 5:30 p.m. In addition to delicious food, there will be door prizes and a silent auction with beautiful artwork for you to purchase. VOLUNTEERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE

If making a difference in your local community is on your bucket list, then consider attending the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) training being held on Monday, March 19 at Lassen Family Services. There are many foster children who need a loving, caring adult to be an advocate on their behalf. If you are interested in learning more about this program, see the ad in this week’s paper.

CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE

Lassen County 4-H members will be serving corned beef and cabbage dinners on Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds, Jensen Hall. Dinner will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. both evenings. Proceeds from this fundraiser go toward scholarships, leadership opportunities, skill days and county 4-H events throughout the years.
