Tracy Lynn Cramer passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Banner Lassen Hospital in Susanville, Calif. after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Prineville, Ore. and was raised in Lakeview, Ore.
To say the least, “Tracy was a worker.”

After that job was completed he was hired by R.T.I. Transportation, located in Flanagan, Nev. He worked for R.T.I. until Savage took over in December of 2011. He worked for them until his health forced him to quit in December 2011.
He is survived by his mother, Ada Turpin and adopted father, Jerry Lange, of Klamath Falls, Ore.; son, Jesse Cramer; Jesse’s godmother, Bonnie Petersen, of Susanville; Tracy’s daughter, Kayla Asbell, her husband Miles; and their son, Dylan, of Canby, Ore.; brother, Rory Cramer, of Portland, Ore.; and sister, Barbara Whitehorse and husband Leo, and family, of Springfield, Ore. Glen Lee “Marty” Martin
Glen Lee “Marty” Martin was born in Arnold, Neb. Feb. 9, 1932. Marty departed from his family and friends on March 2, 2012, in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Marty lived 80 fulfilled years. He is survived by his wife, Letha Martin; two daughters, and son-in-law, Denise Bowers and Deana and Grant Smiley; a son, Michael Jabbs; five grandchildren, Megan and Alicia Bowers, Matthew, Scott and Rebecca Smiley; and numerous family and friends.
Marty grew up in Arnold, Neb., and after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on June 12, 1951. He was stationed at Travis Air Force Base until June 11, 1955.
After leaving the Air Force, Marty ran a combining business for two years before beginning a long career with Standard Oil Company. His career with Standard Oil in the Fairfield and Sacramento finally led him to Susanville in 1965, where he owned and managed “Marty’s Chevron.” Marty made many friends and employed a number of local people during his tenure with Chevron until closing his station in 1982.
In 1968, Marty began his career in law enforcement when he became a Reserve Deputy with the Lassen County Sheriff’s Department until being employed full time in 1985. Working with the sheriff’s department as a reserve officer and full-time deputy was one of his proudest accomplishments in life. Marty was honored to serve the community as an officer of the sheriff’s department.
Marty worked as a jailer in the Lassen County Jail and as the Lassen County Sheriff’s Department Animal Control Officer. Upon completion of the construction of the new Adult Detention Facility in 1991, Marty was promoted to the position of jail supervisor. For many years Marty was very active in the Toys for Tots program and Search and Rescue while working with the sheriff’s department.
Marty married Letha Nov. 20, 1992. On Sept. 17, 1996, Marty retired from the Adult Detention Facility. He took a break from regular employment for a short time, working part time as a transport officer for the Lassen County Probation Department, and transporting vehicles for local car dealerships. He also worked as a salesman for Bonanza Trailer sales for three years before being employed at the Lassen County Superior Court as a court security officer in 2002. Marty retired from his employment with the Lassen County Courts in July of 2007.
During Marty’s leisure time he spent much of his time coaching his son’s baseball team, and assisting in his son’s soccer, basketball, football and golf games. In Marty’s late 60s and early 70s he continued to stay actively involved in mountain biking, camping on the Oregon coast, playing golf, playing basketball, baseball and co-ed softball.
Marty enjoyed his retirement taking advantage of this time working in the yard, tinkering in the garage, building bird houses and watching as many San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and closest to his heart, any sport involving the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Marty is a man who genuinely respected all people regardless of their role in life. He was the greatest supporter of his family and friends. Their happiness in life brought his greatest pleasures.
Prior to Marty’s passing, he expressed his appreciation for what his friends and this community has done for him and his family, particularly in regards to people generously donating to cover medical costs for his kidney transplant, numerous medical necessities, and transporting him to and from daily treatments.
Marty was a man everyone enjoyed, never judgmental, always kind, willing to lend a hand, always cheerful, humorous and wearing a big smile. He was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. March 17, 2012, at the Assembly of God Church.
