Kenneth Melton Hunter passed away after a long illness on Friday, May 20, with family at his side. Kenneth Hunter, born Nov. 5, 1932 in Porum, Muskogee County, Okla. Ken leaves his wife of 55 years, Maralyn, their four children, Robert and wife Rhonda; son Ken; daughter Cheryl and husband Kenneth Holmes; and daughter Becky and husband Dirk Huddle.
Ken was the loving grandfather to Kenneth and Lindsey Holmes; Rachelle and Ryan Esway; Kevin Hunter; Katie Edwards; Chelsea and Jared Huddle along with three great-grandchildren; Caleb Hubbard, Taylor Edwards and Aubrey Esway.
Ken loved his family, his friends, his neighbors and our country. He retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service that provided endless adventures of travel and memories for the entire family.
Ken continued to work in Sacramento in the automotive industry and ARA Enterprises.
Kenneth was a devoted member of the Citrus Heights Community Church for more than 35 years, an active member of the Sunrise Lyons Club and the Sacramento Model T Club.
Those who knew Kenneth will recall his love for tinkering on cars, clocks and spending time fishing with his family and friends. Ken will be remembered for his never-ending calm words of insight, bright eyes and beautiful smile. He was the first to lend a hand to help wherever needed, no matter the task.
A Celebration of Life to honor Kenneth Hunter will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the Bayside Church of West Roseville, 10020 Foothills Boulevard, Roseville.
Donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Citrus Heights Community Church general fund.
