RAY E. CARSON SR.
Ray E. Carson Sr. a Yreka, Calif., resident, passed away at home on Sept. 30, 2008. He joined his wife, mother, father, brothers, children and grandchildren.
Ray was born on July 1, 1930 in Van Buran, Ark. Our father worked hard all his life, loved providing for his family and never let any of us want for anything. He lived in Susanville in the 1940s. Ray served our country in the U.S. Army. He worked for American Linen and played country music for many years. After his retirement from High Ridge Lumber Company, he put his heart and soul in providing the best home health care in the world for his wife Mary, until she passed away at home three years ago.
Survivors include children, Ray E. Carson Jr., of Yreka, Wayne Carson, of Fresno, Calif., Lynda Weathered, of Fresno, Rick Tabor, of Arizona, Kevin and Brenda Taylor, of Idaho, and Starla Tabor, of Yreka; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters; Eva Fanning, Dolly Wornokl and Gerry Pilcher; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad’s treasured family and friends; George and Annie Church, of Michigan and lifelong friend and band member Mr. Olen Kent, of Talent, Ore.
We would like to thank Madrone Hospice for all the love and support you’ve given, you are all beautiful people and have been the guiding light for our brother Ray E. Carson, who devoted three and a half years of flawless love and care for our father.
Funeral services were held in Girdner Funeral Chapel on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 with Pastor Bruce Swetnam officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery with military honors.

Jesus Penny Corbera, 98, passed on to his heavenly home on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008. He was living in Chico Creek Convalescent at the time.
“Penny” as we all knew him, has lived in Westwood for most of his life. He worked for the water department and the railroad company. He raised his family and was very well known in Westwood. Many days you would see Penny walking to get the mail and on to Young’s Market for some shopping. He visited with people each morning and had a nice smile for everyone.
Three years ago, he broke his hip and needed to be in a wheelchair; that is what ended Penny’s days, as he loved to get out each day.
He loved visiting with friends and family.
Penny will be greatly missed by family and all that knew him.
Preceding him in death was has daughter Trinadad “Carol” Corbera/Rivera.
Survivors include wife Labetta “Betty” Corbera; children Linda, Cheto, Roseann and Richard Corbera; Martha Ruiz; Darral, Connie and Robert Garcia.
Services were at Diamond Crest Cemetery in Susanville on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008.
A tribute to his life dinner was held at Westwood Community Center.
JOSEPHINE ANNE IDZINSKI
Mother, sister, grandmother, and niece Josephine (who everyone knows by Anne), began her journey with the Lord at 7:30 p.m., on Sept. 22, 2008 with her family around her at Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nev.
She was born to Cecilia Russell in Manhattan, New York City on May 16, 1945; Cecilia later married Joseph Devlin, who became Anne’s stepfather. She had one sister; Barbara Donahue, four brothers John, Joseph Jr., Thomas, Frank; two sisters-in-law Christine and Cindy Idzinski; and one brother-in-law, Robert Idzinski.
She was a homemaker and caretaker of her Autistic son Benjamin Altuz-Idzinski, whom she had a special love for and made sure he was taken care of.
Before she left this world, she had six children; Ramon Altuz, Barbara Tong, Benjamin Altuz-Idzinski, Joesph Idzinski, Lucie Demague, Steven Idzinski, daughters-in-law Melissa Altuz, Kim Idzinski, Laura Idzinski, and sons-in-law Charles Tong, and David Demague.
She had 17 grandchildren; Eric, Marissa, Jeremy, Brenda, Aerial Krystal, Steven, Jake, Heather, Isaiah, Amy, Kasey, C.J., Anthony, Kodie, Matthew, and Tearza. She had two great-grandchildren; Serenity, and D.J.; and one on the way. She also had numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Stanley Joseph Idzinski II, who died Oct. 9, 1988, and her mother Cecilia Devlin and stepfather Joseph Devlin.
She loved the mountains, the casinos and all holidays. She would decorate her house to the fullest for Ben and her grandchildren. She resided in Doyle for more than 20 years.
We love and miss you Mom and Grandma.
GENE E. SNOWDEN
Gene E. Snowden was born Nov. 25, 1928 in Hanford, Calif. He had a very peaceful passing with his family in Paradise, Calif., on Sept. 23, 2008. Gene was a very active Veteran who liked to spend his time in the American Legion, the Military Constabulary and in his church.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Wanda Snowden, of Westwood, Calif., his children Frank Snowden, of Baker, Ore., Kitty Smith, of Paradise, Calif., Howie Snowden, of Payton, Colo., his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as sons and daughters-in-law, and friends.
He will be missed dearly by all his wonderful family and friends.
There will be a Military Memorial Service in memory of Gene at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at the Assembly of God Church in Westwood. Gene’s family would love to have you come and celebrate his life.

Phyllis Anne Harvey, 86, died Sept. 28, 2008 in Janesville, Calif.
She was born May 17, 1922 in Kansas.
She is survived by her sister Rosalie Collins, of Chicago Park, Calif.

Robert Leon Semon died in Janesville, Calif., Wednesday Sept. 17, 2008.
He was born in Medford, Ore. on Dec. 5, 1931 to the late Russell and Helen (Haskins) Semon.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years; Amelia, of Janesville, Calif., son; Timothy, of San Joaquin County, Calif., daughter; Katherine Semon and husband Robert, of Damascus, Ore., along with three grandchildren.
A celebration of Bob's life will be announced at a later date.
