Lassen High School plans multiyear reunion
The cost will be $30 per person or $60 per couple, and the reunion will start at 4 p.m. with a no-host bar. Food will be served from 6 to 8 p.m.
DJ Rhino will provide music from 8 to 11 p.m. with the music theme being oldies to match the majority of the attendees. Organizers plan to open the event after 8 p.m. at no cost, and they will still do so if enough people attend to cover all the costs. If finances dictate, it will cost $10 per person to come in after 8 p.m.
The dress code for the event is casual. Self-contained RVs are welcome to park in the fairground’s parking lot, and a few spaces with hookups are available on a first-come basis. Be sure to check with the organizers for availability.
There are motels within walking distance, and some are offering discounts for reunion attendees, so be sure to ask. Make your reservations early.
The organizers advise those attending that the third weekend in June will be a busy one in Susanville. In addition to the reunion, there will be the 50th Reunion of the Class of 58 at the Elks Hall, the Elk Foundation Dinner and Auction at the National Guard Armory, a gymkhana at the fairground’s livestock facilities during the day and the LUHS Alumni Picnic. Many attendees of the evening event may want to attend both the alumni picnic and the reunion.
The May 30 registration deadline has been extended until June 7. Most of the members of the all the classes have been contacted, however, organizers have been unable to reach everyone. If you know someone who would like to attend the multiyear reunion or for reservations or more information, call Susan Wannebo at 257-2626 or Lorraine Forrester-Hansen at 596-3481.
Anyone wishing to attend the alumni picnic should call Tim Purdy at 257-6747.
