Inaugural ‘Walk-A-Mile’ event garners support

Tuesday, April 22, 2014 — Large numbers of Lassen County residents came to show their support for the inaugural Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.

More than 300 community members laced up their shoes and rounded Riverside Park from the Lassen Family Services office on Riverside Drive in support of the event.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an international march to stop rape sexual assault and gender violence, according to the organization’s website. It is an event to raise local awareness to the real problems happing to community members.
