Williams wins Miss Lassen County crown

July 22, 2008 — Growing up, Jennifer Williams has looked up to the girls chosen as Miss Lassen County. Now the role will be reversed as Williams became Miss Lassen County 2008 during the annual pageant held on Tuesday, July 15 at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.

Court suspends proceeding; seeks psychiatric evaluation of attempted murder susp

July 29, 2008 — A Lassen County Superior Court judge continued a hearing on the mental competence of a former correctional officer charged with attempted murder, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, spousal abuse, a great bodily injury enhancement and battery.
