Governor's budget cuts will hit Lassen County

Feb. 5, 2008 — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s proposed 10-percent across-the-board funding reduction to nearly every program in the 2008-2009 state budget will affect local prisons and agricultural preserves.

McCain faces fine for Willow Creek dam failures

Feb. 5, 2008 — Former Lassen County Supervisor Everd McCain and his associates face $100,000 in fines because two earthen dams on Belfast Ranch washed away in 2005, polluting Willow Creek.

Corridor Improvement Plan approved

Feb. 5, 2008 — With additional language added, the Lassen County Transportation Commission adopted a resolution accepting a Caltrans Corridor Improvement Plan during its Monday, Jan. 8 meeting.
