Residents form Neighborhood Watch
Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 — Residents who live near the historic Railroad Depot and near Riverside Park took the first step toward taking their neighborhood back from the criminals when they formed a Neighborhood Watch group at an organizational meeting held Monday, Aug. 17 at the depot.
An estimated 50 residents attended the meeting and met with Susanville Police Lt. Matt Wood to discuss how the new group and the police department could work together to end the crime the residents said ruins their neighborhood.
Resident Christi Choo said she’s had enough. She said her home was recently broken into by a man who knew she and her family were in the residence. She said it’s time for the residents to be proactive and band together to protect themselves.
