Police nab burglary suspect in store
Dec. 8, 2009 — The Susanville Police Department arrested a suspect on charges of alleged second-degree burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia on Saturday, Nov. 28.
Police officers were called to Kragen Auto Parts at 2575 Main St around 8 p.m., after receiving a call about an unwanted individual in the store. Officers quickly found the man inside after talking with store employees.
The SPD identified the man as 20-year-old Forrest Moore, of Susanville. Upon an initial search of the suspect, officers found what they believed to be a smoking device for illegal substances in his possession. A further check revealed there were a number of items in a backpack he was carrying. A press release from the SPD said the items were allegedly stolen from inside the store.
SPD Chief Jeff Atkinson said Moore was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility. Moore was booked for second degree burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $11,250.
