Pool joint powers authority approved
Monday, Nov. 18 — Plans for a community swimming pool will move one step forward after the Lassen County Board of Supervisors and the Susanville City Council voted to approve a joint powers authority.
The vote, although not unanimous, was taken during a special joint meeting held today, Monday, Nov. 18 at the Veterans Memorial Hall. The five member JPA will discuss the logistics of a community swimming pool, such as location and funding, and will consist of two members from the city council, the supervisors and one at-large member from the community.
At the requests of supervisors Bob Pyle and Larry Wosick the document had been modified from what the city council had approved at its Nov. 6 meeting. Rather than approving a changed document and moving it back to the city council, it was decided both entities would hold a joint meeting.
