Jan. 31, 2012 — Snow blowers blasting snow from driveways up and down the streets of Westwood was an unusual sight Monday morning, Jan. 23, following the first major storm of the season.
With an unusually dry winter residents have not had much need for snow removal equipment.
I read that this time last year ski resorts in the Sierras had double their usual amount of snow.
Herzog is gone forever, but his untimely death should not affect court proceedings or legislation approved by the California legislature designed to prevent the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) from releasing a parolee in a different county than the one in which they committed their offense without the mandatory notice required by California law.
So while I’m not jumping up and down for joy and deliriously dancing on Main Street, there is an upside to the news that convicted killer Loren Herzog apparently hanged himself inside a little trailer on state property outside High Desert State Prison last week — we never have to worry about him hurting another woman, and frankly I am more than quite happy about that.
