Oct. 17, 2006 - A Feather Publishing investigation has revealed that Irene Burkey, president of the board of trustees for Feather River College, has been teaching at the school in violation of state conflict-of-interest laws and has, until recently, failed to disclose her conflict of interest.

Lassen County workers go on half-day strike to protest impasse

Oct. 17, 2006 — Lassen County employees expressed their dissatisfaction with the progress of negotiations for a new labor contract between their union and the Lassen County Board of Supervisors with a half-day strike last Thursday afternoon over pay and benefits.
