The City of Susanville Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing to consider approval, conditional approval, or disapproval of a Use Permit to allow the expansion of a Charter School in the Uptown Business District (UBD) zone. The project is located at 623 and 629 Main Street, APN 103-294-06. The proposed ordinance would Rescind Ordinance No. 567, an ordinance of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Lassen, adopted on October 9, 2007, approving a Development Agreement between the County of Lassen and Dyer Mountain Associates, LLC.  The current owner, Sierra Pacific Industries, does not intend to develop the Mountain Resort Project and has requested that the County rescind the approvals related to the previously proposed Dyer Mountain Resort Project.
The Development Agreement, dated November 27, 2007, and recorded on November 30, 2007, as document 2007-08816, was to facilitate development of the Project as a four-season, mountain resort, mixed use development, consisting of approximately 7,000 ± acres, allowing for a maximum of 3259 equivalent dwelling units ("EDUs"), 233,800 square feet of general commercial uses, 51,500 square feet of public uses, 100,000 square feet of mountain resort recreation uses, and 222,600 square feet of common area support uses; as well as provide implementation of environmental mitigation measures identified in the Dyer Mountain Resort Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR).  Dyer Peak is located just north and east of the Plumas/Lassen County border; the Project site extends to the north and east of this peak.  The Project Site is immediately south of the community of Westwood and southeast of the community of Clear Creek.  The Development Agreement was to provide for phased development of the Project over a 20-30 year time period.

Notice is hereby given the Lassen Local Agency Formation Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the following proposal:
LAFCO File No. 2014-01 - Formation of the Southern Cascades Emergency Services CSD. The proposed district will provide for the transport and emergency medical services in an approximate 1,670 square mile area located in the southwesternmost area of Modoc County and the northernmost portion of Lassen County including Big Valley and the western Madeline Plains.
The Commission will consider oral and written testimony by any interested person or affected agency as well as the report of the Executive Officer.  At the hearing, the Commission may approve or disapprove a proposal with or without amendment, wholly, partially, or conditionally, may include or exclude territory in this formation or may continue its consideration with or without amendment, as a whole, in part, or upon such conditions as the Commission may determine. The Commission intends to require a voter approved proposition enabling district funding as well as confirmation by the voters to form the District at the earliest date to meet election deadlines. This notice complies with Section 15182 of the CEQA Guidelines.

The County of Lassen's Department of Planning and Building Services invites sealed proposals from qualified firms for the Preparation of a Parks and Recreation Master Plan for the Community of Herlong.
The Request for Proposal is available at the County of Lassen's Department of Planning and Building Services, 707 Nevada Street, Suite 1, Susanville, CA  96130, or you may telephone Jenna Aguilera at (530) 251-2683, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Sealed proposals will be received by the County of Lassen's Administrative Office, Attn: Regina Schaap, 221 South Roop Street, Suite 4, Susanville, CA  96130, by mail or in person until 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 20, 2014.  Proponents will be notified in writing of contract award postmarked no later than Friday, March 28, 2014.  Lassen County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals and to waive informalities and minor irregularities in bids.
