Notice of Public Hearing

The City of Susanville, Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing to consider approval, conditional approval, or disapproval of a Variance request to allow a sign to be placed within the front setback on property located at 2940 Riverside Drive.   The variance would allow a structure to encroach 9 feet into the 12-foot front setback.   The property is zoned C-2 General Commercial and Shopping Center. The proposed ordinance revises Title 12 of the Lassen County Code, repealing and re-enacting Chapter 12.26, Flood Damage Prevention, which regulates construction in and around floodplains. The proposed amendments are to comply with the U. S. Federal Emergency Management Agency’s recommendations to create written standard operating procedures for substantial damage improvements; to promote the public health, safety and general welfare; to minimize public and private losses due to flood conditions in specific areas; and incorporate multiple updates.
