Friday, Nov. 22 — Combating the limited budget available to the Diamond View Middle School library, a giving tree was placed in the school cafeteria.
The giving tree was an idea formed between library technician Shirley Littlefield and the site council as a way to increase the number of non-fiction books in the library, in accordance with the new Common Core Standards.
Parents and students can go to the giving tree, pick off a tag and donate the money toward a non-fiction book, and in turn, their name will be placed within the book so everyone will know who donated it.
