COLOR TECHNIQUE WORKSHOP
    On Thursday, November 4th head on over to Billington Ace Hardware for their Mythic Paint Color Technique workshop at 4 p.m. being conducted by Naomi Turner of Room by Room Interiors.  “Our Western Region Senior Executive Mary Zackman will be on hand to answer all your questions about our new line of VOC (volatile organic chemicals) free paint” according to owner Arlin Billington.  Besides getting great ideas for your fall home improvements, you’ll also get free coupons and have a chance at their free giveaways just for attending.

WELCOME BACK STYLIST
    Julie Wedemeyer, formerly Julie Anderson, is back behind the chair!  She is joining the team at Hair Hunters Salon, bringing with her more than fifteen years experience.  Wedemeyer specializes in highlights, color corrections and curly hair.  If you’re looking for a day out with your girlfriend, be sure to ask about her “BFF Pampering Promotion.”

AN EVENING WITH YOUR FAVORITE ARTISTS
    With the holidays just around the corner, many of your favorite local artisians will be introducing their newest collections at Picture Perfect Custom Framing and Art in uptown Susanville on Nov. 6.  There will be a preview of show and sales from noon to 4 p.m. and the artist reception will follow until 7 p.m.  Featured artists include Debbie Anderson, Norma DeBaker, Rachel Dood, Edith Schwirian, Jan Fraser-Dickman and Susan Dunklau.

WINTER MEMBERSHIPS
    Diamond Mountain Golf Club is now offering winter memberships, good through February. Dan Kowall reminds us that once the snow flies (and lands), the back 9 and the driving range will be closed as well as the clubhouse. The clubhouse will however open occasionally when weather permits. If you are thinking of Christmas gifts for anyone on your list, Kowall says your best bet is to get out to the golf course soon, before they close. Kowall also informs us they plan on opening back up in March of next year.

CHRISTMAS IS IN THE AIR
    If you haven't been out to Every Bloomin' Thing in awhile, and need to get into the Christmas spirit. Then it's time to drive out to Johnstonville and visit the gift shoppe inside Every Bloomin' Thing. Owner Melissa McCoy and her helpers have been really busy getting their store ready for the Christmas holiday.

YOUNG WOMEN VOLUNTEER AWARD
    Soroptimist International of Susanville announces an award that is targeted to young women who make the community and world a better place. The Violet Richardson Award honors young women between the ages of 14 and 17, for volunteer action, such as fighting drugs, crime and violence, having a positive influence with a special school project etc.  There will be a $500 award for the winner. Applications for the award program are available at all local area high schools or you can contact Cindy DeMasi at 260-1759. Applications must be returned to Cindy DeMasi P.O. BREAST CANCER DRIVE
    Soroptimist International of Susanville has been having a new bra drive in honor of October being breast cancer awareness month. The ladies have decided to extend the date to Nov. 15. They will be accepting any size, style or color of new bras. All bras will be donated to Lassen Family Services. You may drop off the bras at US Bank, DW Real Estate or Lasco in Susanville.
