April 21 — The Honey Lake Valley Riders equestrian club could not have picked a more perfect day to kick off their 2014 season of horse events.
More than a dozen riders showed up to Janesville Park to participate in Fully Wooly Fun Day in the sunny, spring weather Saturday, April 12.
The events for riders ages 4 to 12 began with a contest and award for the fuzziest horse, which went to Tati Woltjen and her pony, Rocket Pony.
Fully Wooly Fun Day then continued on with barrels, poles, hurry scurry and an Easter basket race.
Riders competed across eight categories and age groups: lead line, beginner, ages 5 to 7, ages 8 to 10, ages 11 to 13, ages 14 to 17, 18 and older and “over the hill.”
