  • 21st annual Paiute Meadows run promises outdoor fun

    April 3 — Spring is here and that means it’s time to get outside, breathe the fresh mountain air and enjoy our local trails.

    The 21st annual Paiute Meadows Run for Trails is scheduled for May 17 and is a great way to celebrate spring, trails and a healthy, active lifestyle.

     

    The event will have seven walk/runs for people of all ages and will take place at Susanville Ranch Park. There will be a 4.5-mile adult run, a 4.5-mile run for people ages 18 and younger, a two-mile adult run, a two-mile run for people ages 18 and younger, a two-mile walk, a one-mile senior walk and one-mile run for children ages 12 and younger.

  • Local runners shine in Chico race

    March 11 — Several runners from Lassen County traveled to Chico to run in the 2014 Bidwell Classic on Saturday, March 1 and achieved impressive results.

    Nine-year-old Nathan Powell (Ogburn), of Susanville, finished the 5K race in 24 minutes and eight seconds, earning him 39th place out of the 400 5K runners and fourth place in the boy’s 13-and-younger age group.

     

    Ray Bailey, of Susanville, took 45th place overall and seventh place in the men’s ages 50 to 54 age group with a time of 24:23.

     

    Susanville’s Desiree Bailey, age 10, completed the race in 24:32 to place 50th overall and second in the girl’s 13-and-younger age group.

     

  • Runners, walkers of all ages participate in annual Paiute Meadows trail event
