March 7 — Softball season has barely begun for the Lassen High School Lady Grizzlies, but the team has already set high standards for itself.

After an incredibly successful season last year, the Lady Grizzlies have set their sights on a second consecutive league championship, as well as the section championship.

“This first goal is always to win the league, and then the second goal is to win the section. They’ve got to come in that order, so our focus is going to be all about winning the league right now,” said Lassen High School varsity girl’s softball coach Paul Moore.

They’re lofty goals, but Moore is confident the team is more than skilled enough to get the job done.

Right now the team is made up of a healthy mixture of seniors and juniors, with one sophomore. However, Moore says there may still be a few more additions to the roster.
