Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 — This year marks Lassen County’s 150th year and a celebration to honor the occasion is being plannedby the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce, the County of Lassen and the Lassen Historical Society.
The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 at Memorial Park with the Susanville Symphony Society kicking off the festivities with a variety of swing music.
Tim Purdy and Lassen County Supervisor Jim Chapman will be giving a sesquicentennial presentation. They have also create a 75-foot timeline depicting the 150 years of Lassen County, which will be displayed along the park walkway.
Additionally, the Lassen County Historical Society will be bringing in a stagecoach and pioneer wagon.
