Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014— The Lassen County community is known to step up and rally around those in need and Susanville Supermarket IGA’s annual Kids Fest is proof of that sentiment.

The event held Friday, Aug. 8 not only provided children a place to enjoy some summer fun, but all donations supported Lassen High School student Kolby Loflin, who has been going through treatments for leukemia.

Rick Stewart, who owns the store with his wife, Anna, and manager Todd Eid presented a $2,860 check to Loflin and his father, Kenny, on Thursday, Aug. 14. More donations were given the week after Kids Fest bringing the total to $3,634.
