Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 — The Lassen County Fire Safe Council and the United States Forest Service are doing all they can to ensure they receive applications for the Secure Rural Schools Act resource advisory committee.
An advisory committee is 15 positions, formed in three different groups, that works to collaborate with federal land managers to suggest title II projects on federal land, according to the forest service website. There should also be as much diversity as possible throughout the group.
According to Ann Carlton, Eagle Lake district ranger, the previous RAC positions were not seated after the past members reached their four years of service.
The fire safe council and partners conceived ways to spur interest in the committee at a meeting July 7.
