Tuesday, July 22, 2014 — Rides in Lassen County are one step closer to becoming a reality.
A report detailing the potential locations for approved park and rides was brought forth before the Lassen County Transportation Commission at the Monday, July 14 meeting. Traffic Works and Green Dot Transportation Solutions prepared the report.
According to Loren Chilson, of Traffic Works who gave the presentation, two standout locations were viewed as serving as approved park and rides; one near the A3 intersection and another on South Skyline Road and Highway 36 Junction. The project’s preparers urged the board to approve the study so agencies could start contacting landowners to move forward with the implementation of a park and rides.
While the board of directors approved the Lassen County Park and Ride Study as a preliminary report, they still had questions they wanted answered before moving ahead with the project.
