Fire near Westwood burns approximately two acres

Sunday, July 13 – Fire crews remain on scene of a fire located Mooney Road and Highway 36 East of Westwood. 

According to Rob Cobb, Susanville Interagency Fire captain, the fire was contained at approximately 2 p.m. and it is estimated it burned two acres. 

Firefighters responded at approximately 11:40 a.m. and the fire closed a portion of Highway 36.

I am glad "they" have been clearing the forests around Westwood and the surrounding areas. The fire could have been 200 acres before anyone responded.
