Wildfire causes traffic diversion near Westwood
Sunday, July 13 — Smoke from a wildfire burning near Westwood caused Highway 36 between the Chimney and the junction with A-21 to be closed about 12:30 p.m. today. The Lassen County Sheriff's Department diverted motorists traveling between Westwood and Susanville to Highway 44, then back to Highway 36.
The wildfire began burning near Goodrich Creek Meadows east of Westwood and caused smoke to fill the roadway on Highway 36, making driving conditions hazardous.
