High School district to receive title to Credence property
Tuesday, July 8, 2014 — A settlement agreement has been reached regarding ownership of the former Credence High School property on Cottage Street. Legal title will be transferred to the Lassen Union High School District as was originally intended more than 20 years ago.
The Lassen Union High School District Board of Trustees sent the agreement June 3 and the Susanville School District Board of Trustees accepted it after meeting in closed session and then reporting out at its June 25 meeting.
According to the agreement, the Lassen Union High School District and the Susanville School District both adopted resolutions in 1987 agreeing to exchange real property on certain terms and conditions.
The parties agreed Susanville School District would transfer title ownership to Lassen Union High School District the Cottage Street property, formerly known as the Washington School site. In exchange, the Susanville School District would sell the Lincoln Annex, owned by the Lassen Union High School District, and keep the proceeds.
