Unions request resignation, board member apologizes

Tuesday, July 8, 2014 — The Lassen Teachers Association and the Classified School Employees Association requested the resignation of a board member after describing behavior they felt was rogue, threatening and hostile.

In May, both associations issued a letter requesting the Lassen Union High School District Board of Trustees censure fellow trustee Ken Theobald, as it was felt he violated the board’s civility policy.

The letter said “We feel that trustee Theobald has exhibited hostile, threatening and degrading interactions with fellow board members, members of the public, staff and school administration.”

Earlier that month, the board approved a contract with DigIt Construction, which had the lowest bid to bring Arnold Field into compliance with the American with Disabilities Act.
