Tuesday, June 24, 2014 — The Lassen Union High School District Board of Trustees has offered a settlement agreement with the Susanville School District regarding ownership of the former Credence High School property.
According to board president Skip Jones, the district’s attorney, Tom Barth, wrote the agreement as a neutral party so Susanville School District will not have to put one together and charge legal fees. The agreement is not yet available to the public as it has not been settled and modifications can still be made.
As of press time, Jones said the Susanville School District had not responded to the settlement that was sent June 3.
In a May 27 letter, however, Susanville School District Superintendent Jason Waddell acknowledged that based on documents the high school district’s legal counsel had provided, it was concluded the property was sold to the high school in 1987.
