Tuesday, June 10, 2014 — The Susanville School District Board of Trustees held public hearings for their Local Control Accountability Plan and budget before adopting them at the district’s June meeting.
Many representative from various key organizations, stakeholders and public attended meetings to help form the control plan which is developed to identify key goals and match the budget to the goals, according to superintendent Jason Waddell.
The accountability plan is under the Local Control Formula Funding, which was adopted by California, and forces all schools in the state to comply and focus spending on eight identified goals. The change in funding has been called one of the most drastic changes in funding in 40 years, according to the district website.
“For the most part, I think we have a good document, a good plan. It addresses everything it’s supposed to … “ said Waddell.
