Monday, May 5 — The California Highway Patrol is seeking information regarding a hit and run accident that occurred on Highway 395 near Buffum Lane at approximately 5:15 a.m. Monday, May 5.
According to the CHP, the victim, Bryan Ries, 33, of Susanville, described the suspect vehicle as a red, full-size truck, possibly having a bumper sticker on the rear and it sounded like it had a gas motor with a loud exhaust. The truck should have a scratch on the front passenger side of the vehicle.
Ries was riding his bicycle south on the fog line when he was struck from the rear by the truck, the CHP said.
He was thrown from his bike and sustained moderate injuries. The truck fled the scene without rendering aid or stopping to exchange information.
Ries was transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center.
