LMUD text alert has new number

As of April 10, customers who enroll in Lassen Municipal Utility District’s Text Alert System will text the letters LMUD to the number 95577.

Due to irreparable technical difficulties the text alert provider, Trumpia, has abandoned the original short code of 69302. Current LMUD text-alert subscribers have been migrated to the new number — no other action is required in order to continue to receive text alerts. The only noticeable change will be that alerts will come from the new number, 95577.

If you are not currently subscribed to the LMUD Text Alert System, you can do so by simply texting the letters LMUD to the number 95577.

Text alerts are generally sent out when there is an outage that affects the majority of LMUD customers. Alerts are used to provide information about either planned outages or unexpected outages. Outage information may also be obtained by visiting its website, lmud.org, and clicking on the outage information link.

As always, to report an outage, call its 24-hour customer service line at 257-4174.
