Man arrested after allegedly trying to obtain recyclable goods
Thursday, March 20, 2014 — A Westwood man was arrested on charges of burglary and trespassing Monday, March 17 after deputies responded to an alarm at a power plant.
According to a press release from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy who initially responded to the Westwood Covanta Power plant at approximately 2:24 p.m. contacted Robert Hazelton, 38, who was walking out of the building.
After questioning, the deputy determined Hazelton allegedly gained access to the power plant property and entered a building for the purpose of obtaining recyclable goods.
He was arrested and booked into the Lassen County Jail.
Other deputies and officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to assist.
