Terrorist threats toward Lassen College lead to arrest

Wednesday, March 19, 2014 — At about 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, officers from the Susanville Police Department responded to Lassen College on a report of threats. Upon arrival officers contacted school staff who reported a student had called the school and threatened school staff over a financial issue.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned Teric Morris, 22, of Susanville, called the school and threatened to come to the college and kill everyone with a firearm because he was angry about not receiving his financial aid in a timely manner.

Officers responded to a residence in the 600 block of Hall Street and contacted Morris, who was taken into custody without incident. Morris was booked into the Lassen County Jail on one count of making terrorist threats and held on $20,000 bail.

The case has been referred to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
