Project Eagle Lake Trout celebration Saturday, July 6
July 6, 2014 — Fishing enthusiasts and novices have the chance to come together for a July 4 celebration this weekend at Project Eagle Lake Trout’s annual celebration.
As it has in the past, the family friendly celebration will boast line casting tournaments, games and food at Eagle Lake RV Park.
Starting at 9:30 a.m. today, Saturday, July 6, participants will vie for winning raffle tickets that are free for children ages 3 to 12.
Additionally, prizes will be given to winners of the ritual horseshoe throwing competition, and “the best in barbecue” meals will be available for purchase at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Participants will also be able to watch the parade, converse with park guides and relax on the national holiday.
PELT has two fundraising events a year sponsored by the California Inland Fisheries Foundation, Inc. – this one, and the Fall Festival celebration in September. Money raised by the two events will help maintain fish spawning and hands-on personnel at the lake.
