Police arrest man with felony warrants
June 20, 2013 — A Susanville man was arrested on multiple charges after leading police officers on a brief pursuit in the early afternoon of Thursday, June 13.
According to a press release from the Susanville Police Department, Marvin Tucker Hefner, 27, of Susanville, was arrested and booked into the Lassen County Jail on two felony warrants, as well as multiple new charges including possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled prescription drug without a prescription, possession of a syringe, delaying or obstructing a peace office and violation of the conditions of his Post Release Community Supervision Program. He was held without bail due to his violation status.
The press release said at approximately 11:30 a.m. an officer observed Hefner in the 700 block of Ash Street attempting to exit a parking lot. Upon seeing the officer, Hefner backed the vehicle into a parking space.
The officer exited his vehicle and drew his department issued firearm, pointed it at Hefner and ordered him out of the vehicle while keeping his hands visible. Hefner got out of the vehicle and allegedly fled the scene eastbound in an attempt to evade the officer.
Officers pursued Hefner across Hall Street and onto Pilcher Street where he was ultimately taken into custody.
The police department expresses its gratitude to the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance during the incident.
The case has been referred to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
