Bizz Johnson Trail bus shuttles announced
May 31, 2013 — Looking for a great biking adventure? Then look no more! Come bike the Bizz. Beginning June 1 and running through Oct. 19 on the first and third Saturday of each month, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Lassen Land and Trails Trust and members of the Susanville Area Bicycle Association team up with Lassen Rural Bus to provide a shuttle for your bike in combination with a bus ride to the trailhead of your choice along with all the support you need for a great adventure.
Put your bike on the bike shuttle and hop on the bus to Devil’s Corral trailhead for a leisurely, approximately seven-mile ride down the trail’s 3 percent grade back to your car at the Historic Susanville Railroad Depot Visitor’s Center. If you’re more adventurous, choose Fredonyer Pass for an 18-mile ride or chose Westwood/Mason Station for the full 28-mile experience. For those who want a challenge, take the newly built South Side trail off the Bizz for climbs and great single track finishing up on a timber road down to Hobo Camp and the main trail to the depot.
Advanced registration can be completed by calling the Lassen Land and Trails Trust at 257-3252. The registration fee includes the bike shuttle and bus fare. Advanced registration closes at 5 p.m. the Wednesday prior to the scheduled Bike the Bizz shuttle.
The Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail is managed jointly by the BLM and Lassen National Forest with support from the nonprofit Lassen Land and Trails Trust, a regional conservation, open space and recreational trails organization.
In addition to the shuttle opportunities, Lassen County offers a wide range of trails, including the world-class Susanville Ranch Park mountain bike trails, and great things to do. Come and spend the weekend enjoying the unparalleled Lassen scenery, from Alpine mountains to high desert, while riding great trails. Spend the weekend.

On a regular basis, Lassen Rural Bus is able to accommodate riders and up to five bikes depending upon ridership on the bus. Go to lassentransportation.org/a/Lassen-Rural-Bus-LRB.php for the West County to schedule and create your own adventure on the Bizz.
