All 44 high school teams in the North Section participated in the tournament, which is a qualifier for the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Wrestling Tournament in Bakersfield, Calif. on March 1 and 2.

Wrestlers had to place within the top three in their weight class to qualify for the state tournament. LHS freshman Kenny Jones took third place in the 113-pound weight class, making him the only LHS wrestler and only freshman in the North Section to move on to the state tournament.
