Vehicle collision slows traffic on Main Street

UPDATED Monday, Feb. 11 —Main Street accident sends three to hospital

Three women were transported to Banner Lassen Medical Center after being involved in a vehicle collision at the 1100 block of Main Street Susanville, Friday, Feb. 8.

Police officers responded to the scene at approximately 4:15 p.m. according to a press release from the Susanville Police Department (SPD). When they arrived, the press release said they located a white 1995 Ford Escort, driven by a 17-year-old female, with major front-end damage blocking the number two westbound lane in front of Papa Murphy’s Pizza.

The other vehicle, a white 2007 for Escape, driven by Debra McLeod, 25, of Susanville, was partially blocking the number two westbound lane and the entrance to Papa Murphy’s Pizza.

McLeod was transported to the hospital via ambulance with chest and neck pain.

The driver of the Escort was taken to the hospital by her parent with a contusion to her right hand.

The passenger in the Escort, Kathyuska Roadifer, 18, of Janesville, was transported to the hospital by ambulance with a contusion to her nose.

The case remains under investigation. The SPD is encouraging anyone with information on this case to call its 24-hour dispatch line at 257-2171. You can remain anonymous.
