The Elegant Iris and The Men's Den will be open seven days a week until Christmas. They are normally closed from noon to 4 p.m. Sundays, but will be open to accommodate their shoppers. Owners Blake and David Huhtala remind you they also have hand-dipped truffles.

ANNUAL MEN’S SHOPPING NIGHT

It’s time again for the annual Men’s Shopping Night at The Pardner, Inc. on Johnstonville Road in Susanville. JoEllen Wood tells us the ladies are invited too, and they’ve stocked the store with all the latest in western wear, gifts, jewelry and home décor.

“We’ve expanded our lines of brand name clothing by Miss Me Jeans, Wrangler and Rockies, just to name a few, in addition to our large selection of boots, Bogs and sheepskin slippers for adults and children,” said Wood.

Plus, you can get complimentary gift-wrapping and enjoy refreshments while you shop. The event will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20.

UNIQUE ANTIQUES

“One man’s junk is another man’s repurposed holiday treasure,” said Steve and Rhonda Fuller, owners of Great Basin Antiques in Historic Uptown Susanville. “We’ve been stocking up at the auctions to bring the best in vintage treasures to town.”

“Our son, Brandon, runs the store and is really excited to help you find the perfect one-of-a-kind gift for that special person on your shopping list,” said Rhonda Fuller.

There’s rustic décor, sports memorabilia and vintage glass and furniture, too.

MORE THAN A HARDWARE STORE

There’s nothing better than enjoying a delicious meal with your loved ones and at Billington Ace Hardware you’ll find a full line of top name kitchen cookware, appliances and accessories to make holiday meals a breeze. Did you know they carry a full line of Carhartt work wear, shoes, hats, gloves and more?

Arlin Billington hasn’t forgotten the ladies with his specialty home décor and gift section, too.

“You’ll find great deals on stocking stuffers, fishing gear, tools and holiday décor,” said Billington.

DID YOU TAKE THE CHALLENGE?

Three years ago we began challenging our readers to spend $100 locally during the holiday season. With only one week left before Christmas, have you done your part shopping locally? If each of our newspaper readers spends $100 shopping at home this holiday season, it would pump more than $2 million into Lassen County's economy, based on a conservative average of just two readers per newspaper. This could take the form of gifts from your favorite store, or if you're thinking outside the traditional gift-giving box, how about the giving of gift certificates from one of our many restaurants, beauty salons, massage therapists, auto detailers, gyms, gas stations or other service providers?

Shopping locally offers many benefits to the community we all call home.
