Beacon station robbed again

Dec. 15, 2012 — Armed robbers held up the Beacon gas station on Main Street in the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 15, marking the second time the station has suffered an armed robbery in about three weeks.

According to a press release from the Susanville Police Department (SPD), officers responded to the station about 2:40 a.m. after a clerk reported two men demanding money entered the store — one armed with a shotgun and the other armed with a baseball bat. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects ran in the direction of North Weatherlow Street.

According to the press release, the suspects were both wearing “dark colored hooded sweatshirts with the hoods pulled over their heads." One suspected is described as a light-skinned male approximately 5 feet to 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium build. The second suspect is described as a male approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build.

“At this time, no further information is available about their identity,” the release reported, but a portion of two surveillance videos of the robbery are available on the SPD website at cityofsusanville.net/police-department.

The case remains under investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the 24-hour dispatch line at (530) 257-2171. You may remain anonymous if you wish.

Armed robbers hit the station in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day, and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash. Two Susanville men — Casey Bauer, 18, and Patrick Donald McKee, 27 — were arrested in that case.

OK I will go out on the limb here I looked at the video online and looks like the clerk knew these two. He threw a piece of trash or paper at the man with the shot gun. NOT NORMAL or SMART. Looked like an act to fane the objection to the robbers camera.

If any reasonable person had something that was a lesser defense tool in hand and a man came in that scared you w/ a gun or any weapon you would not toss it at the threat. You drop it and show compliance. Makes no sense.

Later when the kid dropped the rifle down prob cause it was too heavy for him nothing was tossed and so on (not suggesting that should have been done but was done when the kid was pointing the rifle earlier just saying if it were to make sense then he should have done it when the gun was lowered)

The gun toting kid comes in and took his hood off in habit then back on as if he said oh yea I am supposed to hide myself in here. Like normal daily mode is to go in hood up walk in then pull his hood down.

Also the cashier loaded the bag appeared way calm then handed the bag that was to save his life from the threat to the counter like he was tossing a candy bar in a bag.

No concern or care to make sure he did not upset the gunKID.
There ya go hope the police get these stinkers quickly. What ever the reality UNACCEPTABLE to bring guns in to this and endanger people. That is notching up the scams so they become more violent in town and we dont need it!

Mombear- Watch the video @ 1 sec the punk tosses the bag not the clerk. Then the clerk puts the cash in it. Don't make assumptions about other people, you just drug the clerks name thru the mud; let the PD figure it out. Until your on the receiving end of a weapon DO NOT JUDGE how anyone reacts!

try two sec of the video you see the clerk toss a white object at the gun kid. The bag was not thrown by gun kid set it on the counter. open your eyes just cause you say its so does not make it so. Nice try though.
