Dec. 4, 2012 — Things become fishy when a family is summoned together for the reading of a relative’s will in the three act mystery “Hangman’s Noose.”

Students in the Lassen High School (LHS) drama department will be performing the play at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 through Saturday, Dec. 8 in the Lassen High School theater, Tickets are $7 or $6 with an Associated Student Body card.

LHS drama teacher Tom Ready explained “Hangman’s Noose” is about a family that doesn’t like each other, but is called together for the reading of Caroline’s (Claudia Lopez) will.

Things become uneasy when it is learned that in order to get a portion of the estate, each person has to spend five minutes alone in the mansion’s library.

Caroline, who has faked her death, devised the plan to find out who killed her father, Martin. As a novelist, Caroline loves all the plotting and scheming because it’s what she does for her profession. Her best-selling novel and estate are called Hangman’s Noose.

Adding to the suspense are Martha (Alegra Miranda), the maid who was been acquitted of her husband’s death, and Gareth (Ethan Bevan), the person others believe murdered Martin and who has been hiding at the mansion.

Two more people end up dead one stormy night before the murderer is revealed in a surprise ending.
